THE SPUR
The Spur is an adaptive re-use of a group of single-story buildings located in Scott’s Addition Historic District, in Richmond. The project removes a non-original connector building to restore a central common interstitial space, re-imagined as a shared outdoor patio accessible from both the alley and the street. A group of office suites are fit out within the historic context of the repurposed buildings.
The goal of the renovation and historic restoration is to strip away layers of previous tenant build-outs to allow the buildings’ unique structural characteristics to reveal themselves while maintaining the united feeling, aesthetic, and shared use of the whole block.
